In the 2000s, Dave oversaw the management of Highline Plaza in Lynnwood, WA, on behalf of international owners. His responsibilities included managing leases, rent collections, maintenance, and overall operations of the property. Additionally, Dave ventured into building and selling new construction projects. Over the years, Dave and Real Estate 2000 Corporation have done thousands of property analysis reports for property owners of commercial and residential holdings.

Their donations benefited organizations such as World Vision, children's hospitals, Union Gospel Mission, the Boy Scouts, the Girl Scouts, food banks, women's shelters, fire departments, police departments, and many others.
The Hilbert family's involvement in real estate dates back to 1894, when Dave's Great Grandfather Frank Hilbert exchanged 10 acres in Walla Walla for 34 acres and a log cabin in Ukiah, Oregon. Over the years, Frank assembled additional land, eventually amassing 15,200 acres by the 1960s. This vast tract was sold to the U.S. Government and the state of Oregon, creating the Bridge Creek Wildlife Area which is part of the Umatilla National Forest, a designated area for deer, elk, and other wildlife.
